Taking good care of your ebike will help it perform at its best and extend the life of the battery and motor





HOW TO TAKE CARE OF YOUR HATASU EBIKE

THINGS YOU’LL NEED
TO MAINTAIN A HEALTHY FUNCTIONING EBIKE
It is recommend to replace the tire sealant every 5 months. Any brand of tire sealants will do.
Use protector coating (like VS1 Armor Coat) on the fairings to avoid dusts and discoloration.

Use Gear Oil #140 for Differential Motor models (HERO and MAKO). Any brand will do, at least 100ml-120ml
For private use, change the oil after 12 months. For daily or business use change the oil after 8 months.
Use WD40 Lubricant every 3 to 6 months to prevent rust for all the screws/bolts/center/side stand.
If you are not going to use the ebike for a long period of time, make sure to have it fully charged once a week.
MAKE SURE TO REGULARLY CHECK

THE FOLLOWING ITEMS
Observe the brake (brake shoe) from 6 months to 1 year if it needs to be adjusted or replaced.
To avoid damage on the bearing set, slow down the unit if the road condition is rough.
Regularly check for loose bolts, fairings clip /screws and broken parts.
Regularly check the tire pressure if there is a need to inflate.

HOW TO WASH
YOUR EBIKE PROPERLY
Do not use high pressured water to wash the ebike as it may penetrate the inner wirings and damage it. Use normal running water only.
If your ebike gets wet in the rain, just wipe the particular part that was affected.

Follow these good practices to maintain a healthy ebike battery

Rest your ebike for 30 minutes before charging and then rest it again for 30 minutes after charging to cool down the battery.

Regularly check the battery if there is water or moist on each terminal of the battery due to heat temperature.

Always use the original charger and adapter that came with the ebike unit.

Avoid battery drain, by charging the ebike once a week if you’re not going to use regularly.


Charge the ebike in a well ventilated area to prevent battery from overheating while charging.

Follow the recommended charging time to avoid overcharging which can affect the battery.

Do not expose the battery and charger to direct sunlight

Do not mix old and new battery as well as different kinds of battery.

Do not leave the battery fully discharged for any length of time.

Do not put any cover on top of the charger (Ex. clothes, blanket, plastic. etc) when you charge the ebike.



Do not connect the battery to other appliances when charging.

Do not maximize the load capacity of the unit for better motor/dynamo, controller and battery health.

IS LEAD-ACID BATTERY SAFE?
YES IT IS! Having an acid based battery means it does not catch fire or explode. The worst case that can happen is that it will bloat if battery is over-charge and/or proper battery care is not being followed.
HOW LONG BEFORE I HAVE TO REPLACE THE BATTERY?
The average lifespan of lead-acid batteries is about 3 years. After that you’ll need to replace it for optimal performance.

DID YOU KNOW THERE IS A PROPER WAY TO CHARGE YOUR EBIKE?
Note: Improper charging may damage the battery


Charge the battery if the battery bar in the digital display is red or 1 bar.

Unplug the charger if the charger light indicator turns green (that means the battery is fully charged).
Always monitor the battery indicator while charging to avoid under or over charging.
